Roadmap for MasterStudy in Q2 2024: Q1 Recap and Plans for Future!

It is the second quarter (Q2) of the year and it is time to look back at what we’ve done in Q1 and give a hint on what’s coming next for MasterStudy.

Q1 Recap

1. New addons. We released two new addons: Question Media and Social Login.
2. Updated Certificate Builder. We listened to feedback and updated the Certificate Builder to make it more customizable and user-friendly.
3. Gutenberg Integration. We added several new Gutenberg blocks, like CTA, Icon, Button, Testimonial, Iconbox, Adaptive Container, and Text.
4. Reports and analytics. In Q1, we devoted significant time to researching and planning our reports and analytics system. This process took longer than expected but we’ve prepared a thorough design and prototype. This includes all the features, processes and functionality of the system. Currently, the system is in the development stage and will be released in Q2.
5. Plugin optimization. We’ve been working behind the scenes to make the plugin faster and more efficient. This includes:

• Implemented indexing for 5 LMS tables in the database for faster response times.
• Removed unused Gutenberg scripts and styles for faster page loading.
• Moved Nuxy styles and scripts to the admin area from the front end to reduce frontend load.
• Optimized various old scripts to make the plugin further efficient.

Q2 Roadmap

Audio Lessons

In the next quarter, we’re adding audio lessons to our Course Builder. It’s a new way for our users to share lessons with sound. You can upload audio files or add content from Spotify or SoundCloud. So you can mix audio lessons with text, video, and quizzes.

Ready Reports and Analytics System for Q2

The system will consist of three main sections: courses, members, and revenue. Each section will offer detailed reports and analytics.

With this system, you can see how your courses are doing: find out how many people are signing up and finishing.

You can track your sales, subscriptions, and transactions. It’s all designed to be simple and easy to understand. Plus, you and your users will get a quick overview of the most important info right on the profile page.

AJAX Loading

Ajax loading will be added to MasterStudy LMS. This will make pages load faster and smoother. It is really useful, especially on content-heavy pages with pagination like certificates and assignments.

Student Management with CSV Export and Import for Instructors

In Q2, student management with CSV export and import will be available for instructors. We initially released this feature only for admins. This means instructors can easily add students in bulk and spend less time on administrative tasks.

More Gutenberg Blocks

After laying the groundwork in Q1, we explored new avenues for Gutenberg. So there will be several new blocks coming to our plugin. These include Featured Teacher, Courses Grid, Course Carousel, and Archive Courses Block.

Email Manager Addon Updates

Big improvements to our Email Manager addon are on the way based on your feedback. We’re adding new email templates, like for events when a comment gets a reply or when a course is completed. You’ll also get more options to personalize your emails with custom content and subject lines.

New Course Page Styles

We’ll be adding seven fresh styles for Single course pages. Your courses will have a modern look and match your brand better. These updates will make your course pages engaging and more informative.

More Features to Be Planned and Researched 

We’ve got some more features in the pipeline for MasterStudy! In Q2, we’ll be doing thorough research on the following features. Once we’ve finished planning and researching in Q2, we’ll start working on bringing these features to life. You can expect to see them released in Q3.

New Elementor Widgets to Customize Course Pages More

With new widgets, you’ll have more ways to customize how your course pages look. You will set up other colors, fonts, and layouts for your page style.

Automatic Switch to the Next Lesson

A highly requested feature – automatic switching to the next lesson in the Course Player will be in MasterStudy. Once students finish a lesson, LMS will automatically move them to the next one.

Open Courses

With this new feature, courses will be open to everyone without requiring registration. This means users can view course materials without going through quizzes and essays – learning will be more accessible.

Open-Ended Quiz

We’ll add a new quiz type where students can provide descriptive answers with a larger character limit. Students can leave more detailed and nuanced responses to explain their point.

Separate Sections about Students and Instructors

MasterStudy will have dedicated sections for both instructors and students. Here you can get information such as enrolled, created and co-owned courses and progress tracking.

Active Sessions

Admins can control active sessions: students can’t share their access details. This is to make sure that your courses are not spread without your permission.

Push Notifications

Our users will be able to send push notifications to students based on events, like email notifications. So you can automate communication with your students.

Grades and Calendar Feature

In Q2, we’ll be planning and researching for grades and calendar features. The grades feature will let you give grades; the calendar feature will have important dates. If you have more thoughts on these features feel free to share them with us!
