WordPress 6.1 Fatal Error Fix Hot Tutorial (for Motors Theme)

Our latest release for Motors caused a lot of trouble and we’re really sorry about it. These steps should help to rectify the issues. 

No access to the WordPress Dashboard after WordPress update?

  1. Login to your ThemeForest profile and download the latest version of the Motors Theme. The following steps outlined in this manual show you how to do that –  https://docs.stylemixthemes.com/motors-theme-documentation/general/included-files#how-to-download-motors-theme 
  2. Unzip the motors.zip archive you downloaded from ThemeForest.
  3. Connect to your WordPress site via FTP/Cpanel and navigate to the following directory: “…/wp-content/themes/”. 
  4. Now that you have unzipped the motors folder in Step 2 and found the themes directory in Step 3, upload the motors folder into the themes directory. (You need to accept the replacement).
  5. Then navigate to the following directory: “…/wp-content/plugins/” and remove the folders called ‘stm-post-type’ and ‘stm-motors-extends’.
  6. Connect to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Install Plugins.
  7. Select the STM Post Type and STM Motors Extends plugins and click Install via Bulk Actions.   

Get Fatal Error after the STM Post Type update to v4.5.6?

  1. Login to your ThemeForest profile and download the Motors package (All files & documentation).
  2. Unzip the motors package and navigate to the Bundled Plugins folder.
  3. In the Bundled Plugins folder, find the STM Motors Extends plugin zip archive.
  4. Unzipping the plugin zip archive.
  5. Connect to your WordPress site via FTP/Cpanel and navigate to the following directory: “…/wp-content/plugins/”.
  6. Find the stm-motors-extends folder and remove it.
  7. Upload the unzipped stm-motors-extends folder in Step 2 to the “…/wp-content/plugins/” directory.
